Can I wear AirPods with a paxman cold cap?

Hi all, I’m due to start chemo soon, and I’m hoping to use the Paxman cold cap.  If I can tolerate it, will I be able to wear AirPods with it on?  I’m hoping to distract myself with TV shows etc but I don’t know if they will fit in my ears under the cap.  I wear glasses as well, so they might get in the way too. Has anyone with specs used AirPods with it?  Thanks for any advice!

  • hey,

I did the cold cap - I found it difficult wearing air pods and my glasses with the way it sat.

hopefully you find a way! I gave up in the end - plus there was that many distractions while having chemo. It wasn’t the quietest place Joy

    good luck xx

  • Hi. I am cold capping and not able to wear my glasses.

Last week the lady next to me had ear phones in and was watching something on her kindle so air pods should be ok.

  • Thanks for the reply!  I guess I’ll try & see how it goes!  I need my glasses on more than headphones as I can’t see much without them!  Rofl

  • I wear my contact lenses when cold capping. Not seen anyone cold cap with glasses they would just get in the way.

  • Oh Sparkle, that’s not good!  I’m blind as a bat without my specs!  I’ll prioritise them over AirPods.  I think someone suggested sliding the specs in between the two caps, so not against your head but over the first cap / under the second one, I don’t know if that might work.  Thanks for replying and good luck!

  • Thats a good idea, it’s worth trying. One week I had a smaller cap that didn’t go over my ears so that would have worked either way glasses. Take your glasses and try it, they may have a solution for you.

  • Yea I had to slip mine over the cold cap. I looked silly but the only way I could see.

Was funny but you’ll find a way.

    Good luck xx

  • I successfully wear headphones to watch my iPad. My treatment is over 8 hours including the cap and my iPad is a godsend! I feel they help compress the top of the cap, as it’s the top that doesn’t feel likes is touches too well. I have had 3/6 chemo sessions and hair has thinned but not very noticeable as yet Pray tone1

  • Oh wow you’re halfway there!  That’s amazing!  So you have the over-your head headphones, that’s a good idea!  I don’t actually own any at all, so my plan is to see how the cap feels on my first session and the decide whether to buy some as a chemo treat.  I figured the first session I will be a bit preoccupied with it all being new and will do some reading or puzzle books with my husband but I would love to watch some tv etc on my iPad or phone the rest of the sessions.  Thanks for replying!
