Hello to all, i have been on this forum since my BC diognosis in March. I have read and followed many of your journeys.
I had my op end of March, lumpectomy and lymph node biopsy, luckily cancer not spread.
However, because im in the group of TNBC and grade 3 i need adjuvant chemotherapy. Can anyone give me any advice or tips on what to expect, what has worked for you and any information that you think i may find helpful.
I work full time and plan to stay at work as much as i can, has anyone found this possible. Maybe i will just need to reduce my hours for a while. I work in an office so nothing manual, but concerned regaring fatigue.
Any help or advice from you lovely people would be very much appreciated.
Take care all
Hi Ren82, sorry to hear of you diagnose. I was the opposite and triple positive. If you click on my name you can read my bio of my journey so far.
Also if you search for Irishgirl16 she had written a great blog - Chemo Side Effects - Hints & Tips
Hopefully if you click on the link it will take you there. If not look for her and then in her blogs find “one life live it - Chemo side effects - hints and tips.”
Wishing you all the best for your journey.

Thanks cuffcake I start EC next week so that was helpful xx
Hiya. So sorry to hear your story. I have just finished adjuvant chemo 4 cycles ec and 3 cycles docetaxel. Was lucky in that side effects weren't too horrendous - lost about 80 percent hair through shredding rather than losing clumps. Got sepsis from first cycle docetaxel but oncologist reduced dose and I was fine after that. Your oncologost will probably frighten you by telling you every single side effect you will get. You may or may not get them. Make sure you monitor your temperature and don't be afraid to call your red card team if you have any questions or symptoms you aren't sure of. They are there to help. And also use here as there are plenty of people going through similar and able to give advice.
It is totally natural to be s**t scared before your first chemo but once you have done that you wil have more confidence and will know more what to expect which makes things far easier.
Take care xxxx
Thanks it does help listening to others as everyone is different , also you pick up tips .x
In terms of working I was able to work reduced hours from home. Managed 60 percent hours while doing treatment increasing to 75 percent next week while I am between treatments
Check with your oncologist about working in office . I was told only to work from home from an infection risk point of view
I’m not working I have taken sick leave till end of August and see how I go . Good luck to you all.I’m not looking forward to chemo in this heat !!! But it has to be done xx
