Hi there,
I had radiotherapy in December after the removal of a DCIS in October. I had scar tissue beneath my scar (of course, duh!) from the get go, but in April I noticed 3 hard lumps close to the original scar tissue but not right next to it. I have an appointment with the BCN soon, but just wondered if anyone else had had something similar,
thanks,
Claire
Hi Claire
I think it is always a good idea to get anything checked out, if only for a bit of reassurance.
Not sure when your appointment is with your BCN but maybe it would be an idea to get in touch, explain the lumps and they may possibly bring your appointment forward?
It could well be due to the radiotherapy or the scar tissue but I would always recommend erring on the side of caution.
Jane
Hi Jane,
Thanks for your reply. I saw the nurse today and the Consultant had a clinic too, so she got him to have a check. They’re going to do an ultrasound to check it is fat necrosis and not something more sinister. It’s been classed as urgent so I should get seen in the next 2 weeks. The nurse said it wasn’t that urgent but if it was put as routine then it would take longer than they’d like.
I’ll find out one way or another, Very glad I spoke to her about it now!
Claire
I am glad you have seen the nurse and consultant today and hope you do not have to wait too long for the ultrasound. Good luck
