My cnacer has come back after 10 years. As i had radiotherapy before, my options are now a mastecomy or i can go on Letrozole for three months. I am so confused, I dont know what to do. Any help will be appriciated.
It's a hard one. Do they still do the mastectomy after 3 mths Letrozole. What's the benefit of taking Letrozole first? I am just 6 mths after my initial op and 5 session of radiotherapy. I feel if it came back I would opt for mastectomy. No one really knows what they will do if faced with this again until it happens. Life means more than keeping my boob. I am so sorry to hear that you are in this difficult situation. We all know the fear of reoccurrence but when you hear those words again it has to be a shock all over again. Were you ever on an aromatase inhibitor after your first breast cancer diagnosis? I don’t know the answer as to why the letrozole would be given. Would you take the letrozole snd then have the mastectomy anyway. Wish I knew more so I could help you out. Take care and hugs to you. Barbara
