Hello. A little update I'm due to start my chemotherapy 8th June. Not going to lie! I'm so frightened x
Hello Good Mum
sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with cancer. You are not alone and will find this site a big help as we are all in the same boat.
I was diagnosed with Her2 positive but finished my treatment 2yrs ago. I had chemo, lumpectomy and radiotherapy, I then had 14 rounds of Kadcyla and I am now on Tamoxifen to put me into the menopause.
I was really scared when I was told that I had to have chemo but it is some thing you get through. Don't get me wrong it's not easy but when you finish you think that wasn't so bad.
Hope your treatment goes well and please feel free to ask any questions.
Carolyn
Hi Good mum
Welcome to the forum and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. While I won’t say chemo is easy it is doable.
Wishing you the best of luck with treatment and as real said feel free to ask any questions you may have about your treatment.
Best wishes

It's scary facing chemo. In my case it was a total shock chemo being thrown in the mix. Initially I was told it would be lumpectomy and radiotherapy. Once you have done your first cycle of chemo you will hopefully feel less frightened. It's the stepping into the unknown I found worse. My first cycle I walked through the door of chemo unit and promptly burst into tears. Nurse said your bricking it aren't you. However you get used to the routine and what happens on chemo day. When you sign consent for chemo you will be given a whole list of side effects and depending how that is delivered you might think you are going to get everything. I was told you will get everything but fortunately i haven't. Don't get me wrong I've had issues (abcess in lumpectomy scar that burst first cycle, sepsis another cycle and paraflu) but I haven't been anywhere near as bad as I had prepared for and I have been able to work 60 percent of my hours throughout majority of treatment.
Have a read of other posts relating to chemo on here and don't hesitate to reach out to us all.
