Hi Everyone,
Just a quick query.
I just wondered if anyone who had a triple positive grade 3 diagnosis with surgery, 3x EC and 3x Docetaxol , 5x radiotherapy and herceptin and anastrazole as treatment , have been offered neratinib as extended therapy.
I fit the general criteria but don't know if it 's tumour profile dependent, age dependent or post code dependent! I 'm only due a couple more herceptin injections and don't know whether or not I should be enquiring about this.
Looking back at some previous posts in the forum , it seems a very harsh treatment.
Thank you and love and hugs to everyone here.
There is good evidence in support of taking it to finish the mopping up of any stray cancer cells after you have finished the initial treatment. It might be ok for you too, and there’s always a bias towards the worst side effects being talked about. Have you asked your oncology team about how much added benefit there is for you from taking it? It’s so hard making decisions about all these new drugs, but I think we are offered them based on sound scientific research. X
