  • Thanks for your reply. I’m taking steroids for 3 days and anti sickness for 3 to 5 days, they seem to be helping a bit more today. Fingers crossed xx

  • Thank you for your reply. The tablets seem to be helping, fingers crossed xx

  • So just had my oncology appointment - mind boggled with scary list of side effects. Any advice for coping with the following:

6 cycles starting week after next. 3 of EC, 3 of Docetaxel.

  • That’s good to hear Cazza. X

  • Hi Rok, hope you feel more relaxed now you have your plan? Yes, the side effects can be scary, but think of the benefits! Hope EC-T works as well for you as it did for me - completely zapped the little blighters! I found EC quite easy, Docetaxel less so, mainly feeling a bit fluey for the first week or so after each infusion, and the worst thing was my taste buds were completely shot. Take all the anti-sickness meds, even if you don't feel nauseous, and if you feel pain coming on, start on painkillers sooner rather than later. Have a read of my blog if you want to see how it was for me, but remember that everyone reacts differently and has different tolerance levels. Mine are pretty low and I was generally fine.  Carried on Eagles' Wings  Try to get as fit and healthy as you can, even if your chemo is starting soon. It will make a difference to how you cope with treatment. Will be thinking of you. Amy x

  • Hi Amy

thank you so much for your advice. I’ll have a proper read of your profile later and be back in touch if I think of any more questions. Head spinning a bit at the moment

  • Hi  , that’s the same as my treatment plan, my first EC being next Tuesday. Like quite a few on the forum say, everyone reacts differently; take all the tablets they give you; talk to your chemotherapy nurses/ oncology team/ hot line as required; stay as positive as we can and fingers crossed it might not be as bad as we are imagining when we read all the information and side effects.
Good luck, we can do this x

  • All the best to you too, PDarlo. Hope EC is kind to you. Slight smile

  • The oncologists have to tell you everything as you are consenting to treatment. And if your oncologist is anything like mine they will of said you will get x y z. Prepare for all eventualities. We went out and bought a box of imodium which has remained untouched - I had the opposite. I've also had no real issues with thrush or mouth sores. And I haven't lost all my hair as I cold capped a bit.
