Hi,

BecA, PDarlo and Cazza25 here you go a May starters chemo group Kissing heart.

I’m sure more will join and you can share experiences as you go through your journeys.

Hugs from cuffcake x x x x x

  • I didn't go for the cold cap (I don't do pain!) and hair fell out from day 17 onwards, a gradual thinning all over. I was left with the Gollum look which I hated so always kept it covered up, wouldn't let anyone see me except hubby. But I wanted to be able to see when it started to grow back so he shaved it clean and I loved it! Wish I'd done it sooner. Now I have short growth all over and I plan to keep a pixie style if it's not really curly. All other body hair coming back except eyebrows. Still only have a few that I managed to keep. Hopefully they'll come back in time, too.

  • Hi Cazza25, I’m in the same treatment plan as you. I’ve just had my first round of chemo and this is day 3 now.

  • Hi can I join the party please. I had my first round of chemo 3 days ago x

  • Good morning everyone, hope everyone is doing ok.

    How is everyone doing?
Im due my 4 cycle next Tuesday, the 3rd Epirubicin and Cyclophosphamide absolutely knocked me sideways, side effects were worse and lasted longer.

Starting Docetaxel next week with Herceptin injection, so will see how I react to that.

The cold cap appears to be doing a great job, yea my hair has gone thinner but no bald patches as yet, my hair feels very different and the ends seem to be more brittle.

Sending love and hugs to everyone - stay strong, particularly on the down days , we’ve got this , you’re all amazing xx

  • Love and hugs to you too. Sorry to hear side effects have been rotten.

  • Hey! Sorry to hear about the rubbish side effects, hope they improve  next week. I start EC in 3 weeks so slightly nervous as think it will be harder! Paticaxel, carbo and pembro not been to bad thank goodness!

Keep strong my lovelies, hope treatment plans are going ok, we can do this xxx

  • Hi I’m so sorry I’ve just seen this, I hope you’re doing ok.
    Big Hugs xx

  • Hi I’m sorry I haven’t been on for a while. I’m sorry to hear you haven’t been feeling well with all the treatments.
I’ve finished EC and started PAC on Wednesday, I’m feeling ok at the moment with just a bit of nausea. I’m still going with the cold cap, I still have hair it’s just become thin.

    • Big hugs, you’ve doing amazing! Xx
  • Morning everyone Blush - hope you're all doing well. Group pat on the back that we're all getting through this!!

Finished my EC and started Paclitaxel yesterday with a Phesgo injection thrown in for good measure - feel OK this morning so let's hope it lasts Joy

Big love and hugs to all xxx

  • Hi All - Yes it seems a long time since any of us have postd here, but guess we have had other things on our minds.  I have just completed my 4th round of Ec and start Paclitaxel in 2 weeks for another 4 rounds.  so far not too bad.  The first week after chemo I have been exhausted, bu after that seem to have 2 weeks of being ok.  The thing I really dislike is the pic line though, sometimes it aches, sometimes its ok. but annoying all the time, but a small price to pay I guess. So far my chemo has been on a Friday, so I have my Friday routine!! 2 weeks at our local hospital to have the picc washed through and third week at the main hospital for wash though and chemo.  I do not have enough words in my volcabulary that would do justice to the wonderful, wonderful staff that I have encountered so far.  From receptionist and trainee nurse to consultant and above who have shown such compassion, kindness and professionalism.  I hope you have all had the same treatment as I have.  No question too small or insignificant for any of them.  I also include my GP practice here, they have been fantastic too.  After my first round of EC my hair started to come out in clumps, so I had my head shaved, and weirdly my hair started to grow back almost immediately, although still very slowly.  I have wigs, but have not worn them yet, as quite happy (now at least) jut to wear a scarf or turban.  I do though put on ful war paint when I go out, and wear the brightest lipsticks - I guess that's my mask, but it does make me feel better.  We have all taken different paths on this voyage we are all on and I am sure we will all arrive at our destination safely.  We are all warriers, and we will survie.  Love to you all Bx
