Hi all, I’ve been very quiet since joining the anxiety of waiting for scan results and my plan was way too much!! But finally got good news that scans showed no spread and have my chemo plan which starts in max 2 weeks time, super super nervous! So I’ve got 12 weeks of pax/carbo, followed by 3 rounds of EC and also have immunotherapy as I’m triple negstive. Any tips before I start that might help? Thank you :) xx
Yes they do have to tell you everything to gain your true consent.
I can honestly say, the day has definitely been better than I imagined, as most say on the forum.
The staff are amazing and look after you.
Just got home
I feel like I’ve got a hangover- headache and sickly, but it will pass, not sure whether chemo/ cold cap or combination of the two. Hoping the steroids don’t keep me awake too much tonight.
I’m not normally a tablet taker, but I’ve got my stash of anti sickness tablets and steroids
plus the injections for the next week.
Thinking of you
Take care, remember we are strong and we can do this.
Can’t deny I felt quite emotional after the chemo, I’m sure that is probably just relief first one done.

Will depend on your oncologist team and how soon they can get you in for treatment. I had to wait about a fortnight from when I signed consent to starting treatment but I did have Christmas in between and I also had to have dental treatment. You will probably have a chance to meet the chemo team b4 you start and also you may.need to have a picc line or a port put in depending on what cocktail of drugs and how they deliver it.
BecA, so glad it’s similar and probably doing it at the same time too, Is yours also triple negative or are these just the main chemos for all BC? Have they given you a start date yet? I agree it was all super confusing I came out thinking right I still don’t really know what’s going on and how long for , I was too busy listening to the HUGE list of scary sounding side affects!!! I’m also still unsure what to do about hair, cold caping, shaving it off, wigs or hats such a minefield!! X
Hi. Glad it all went as well as these things can. It is probably a combination of steroids chemo and cold cap that makes you feel like you have a hangover. I was told you have headache from steroids or sickness and I know which I preferred. Take some anti sickness now if you are feeling sick. Don't wait to be sick.
And it is natural to feel a bit emotional esp after first session. I burst into tears when I went In for first session and.nurse said are you bricking it!
Big hugs xxx
If you are considering cold cap remember you have to try it on first cycle or you can't try at all. Take a look at the paxman website for more info on it.
Good luck with your appointment, it seems to vary between hospitals, I had an operation first, the plan had been discussed by MDT and I was told when I met the oncologist it would be 2-3 weeks, there weren’t spaces in chemo, and I was given a date 4 weeks from first meeting with oncologist, it’s been put back another 2 weeks because of dental treatment..
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
