Hi , I just wondered if anyone had experienced itching (no major rash present) on just one forearm post radiotherapy? It started two weeks after treatment and also had developed shingles (but on head) and thought it might be connected at first. I have recovered from shingles but itching continues. Mainly at night or early evening as I sit to watch TV. It goes away after scratching and stings a bit. There are a few tiny red dots that bleed and disappear but generally nothing there and not aware of it irritating throughout the day….have upped moisturising as could be dry skin but seems strange just on one arm? the other thought it’s connected with nerve regrowing in arm?  Would welcome if anyone has experienced anything similar…thanks…

  • Hi Lifeslikethat welcome to the forum. I am aware that a few years down the line my skin remains super sensitive after treatment and I never use anything that has any perfume in it, choosing instead things like  the brand 'simple'   Even my scalp on occasion drives me nuts with the itch but I take an antihistamine and that seems to sort it out.  It sound s lie  something has irritated your skin and maybe  an antihistamine  with some soothing cream may do the trick to get rid of this for you if not may be worth seeing the GP and get them to have a check on this.

  • Hi Granny59, thank you for replying …yes I think I will take some antihistamines and see if that will calm it down. Thank you!
