Breast cancer found on routine mammogram after biopsy . Couldn’t feel lump and neither could dr or nurse . Asked to be in SMALL study . Two days after consent signed I had Vacuum extraction of cancerous lump under local anaesthetic and ultrasound followed by. A mammogram which showed they got everything . However all went to pathology and multidisciplinary meeting and tomorrow ( 31st) I get the results . It’s been a long two and a half week wait . So will hear tomorrow next step . Either onto radiotherapy if all gone OR lumpectomy / mastectomy and further treatment . My sister had same cancer and hers was more advanced . She had mastectomy, chemo and radiotherapy all during lockdown and covid restrictions. I was her listening board and support by FaceTime . She is doing well and back to work. Harder now it’s me as I live alone and not good at accepting help and support although my family have be great .My friends too have been great .
Sorry you are going through this but I am glad they tried this new approach on your cancer. New advances everyday. Take care and praying you can just go into radiation.

My results on Friday were positive. Dr says no further surgery and certain get it all early . I am starting on Anastrozole for next 5 years and awaiting oncology appointment and radiation appointments . No chemo . Just want to get going with next phase although NOT looking forward to return menopausal symptoms with the Anastrozole.
So good that all is moving forward. I have been on anastrazole for almost a year and I am doing well on it. I do have very dry mouth at night and get very warm but no real sweating like a hot flash. But live in Florida so everyone feels hot here!! I also am in it for 5 years. Had radiation too and was more worried about that than anything but it was ok too. Just happy to be done with it and enjoying life. You will be done with radiation before you know it.

Thanks Barbara for positive words. Started tablets yesterday . No word about radiation as yet so don’t expect to hear now till after Easter .
Hi. Like you they found my cancerous lump on a routine mammogram. It could not be felt either. When first detected in June it was 10mm and after op in the September it was then 15mm.
But like your sister it was during covid restrictions and had to attend appointments on my own. I also had to self isolate prior to the operation and found it hard not to be able to go shopping and having to rely on my daughter.
I had radiotherapy and on hormone tablets. I've I have one clear year so far.
Hope everything goes okay for you and enjoy easter.
Good to hear Hellesdon . My sister was also clear at 1 year. I am so lucky to have good support from friends and family . My sister found that the hardest thing during covid restrictions . I went to see her , first of family to do so, after her chemo and before radiation. We had a lovely visit and boosted her no end at the time . FaceTime each other all the time as she is in Scotland but not same as sitting in same room . She is great support too for me.
