Hi all I've done 6 rounds of chemo had surgery now awaiting radiotherapy but seroma on my lymph node keeps refilling and I worried about having radiotherapy to old lymph node site I don't want to get lymphodema has anyone had a problem s xx
It didn't for me, I had full node clearance. I was told it's more about infection due to injury, sunburn anything that can cause inflammation. No Bp or blood tests on that side forever.i have to be careful when gardening.. Ordered some gauntlets. Hope it is uneventful for you. They are very kind and willing to answer any questions. X

Hi Fiona_C22 , just thought I’d pop in as I have lymphoedema, luckily mild, in my radiated breast. It’s a less well known and less publicised side effect of radiotherapy. I don’t think it’s common but it’s listed in the booklet I was given pre radiotherapy, I think published by breastcancernow. It hasn’t occurred to me as a concern until I noticed that my treated breast was bigger than the other, post lumpectomy and rads. I also was finding that any seams in bras caused pitting on that side but not on the other. I raised it at my 10 week post rads oncology review, and was referred to the local lymphoedema service who confirmed it. I manage it mainly with Nordic walking which was recommended and has become a loved hobby.
Although I don’t love having it, it’s manageable and I’d still have had the radiotherapy even if I’d known I’d get it. I can’t comment on rads to the lymph nodes as I didn’t have it. I will tag a lovely member, Exraygirl as she always has useful advice re radiology. Love and hugs, HFxx
Aww thank you so much it's one of them if you don't have the treatment your always worried it will come back xx
