Care for mastectomy scar

I was advised to use Aveeno moisturiser but that was for lumpectomy scar. It doesn’t contain oil if that helps and has really helped with my scar.

Unfortunately their moisturising lotion contains Petrolatum. It's petrol and paraffin based products I can't use, natural oils aren't a problem.

My surgeon advised me to use silicon scar gel - it is expensive but you only need a tiny bit each day. I was told to stretch the scar and massage it well every day. It worked - my scars are quite flat

i went through this in January. I used Balmonds scar oil.

I found them during chemo and really appreciated their products. They are a little UK company - mom created because her child had bad eczema. No junk or perfumes in these products and there are many that suit cancer treatment.

I'm  just starting radiation treatment and using their Cooling Cream which I'm keeping in the fridge.

I’m having surgery next week and have been looking into caring for scars. I’ve heard about silicone sheets that can be washed and reused. Might be worth investigating? x
