Hi all i am soon to have my last EC cycle before moving onto  9 x weekly cycle of Paclitaxel. I have suffered with various unpleasent side effects related with EC, has anyone completed a similar cycle? Reason i ask if i have heard Paclitaxel being ref'd to as 'chemo light' if there is such thing...so i am hoping it will be kinder to us with regards side effects..i know its down to the individual but can anyone advise what there experiences are xx thanks all

  • Hi

I've just added a post which seems to read very similar to your one here. I just wondered how you actually found paclitaxel once you started to receive it?

    Thanks

  • Hi KMT i also had 3 x 3 wkly EC followed by 9 x paclitaxel, i struggled with EC even though the staff said i was coping very well, i didn't feel as though i was! I still have aching hands and feet, neck and shoulders, chemo rash. Generally the same throughout apart from following treatment now i usually nap in the afternoon, then 2 days post treatment i get a bit of an upset stomach lose my apetite. However the last few weeks have been a nightmare and sent my anxiety levels through the roof as on the sunday following treatment for 2 weeks i ended up in hospital due to temp spikes, but thankfully all bloods were clear, my temp is still all over the place but consultant cannot give me a definitive explanation as too why which is making my anxiety worse, so following treatment last week im taking regular paracetamol daily its helping but still have terrible anxiety. Im told it could be menopausal symptoms as i am also having 4 weekly injections to bring on my menopause  :-/ but at the moment i feel so fatgued its as much as i can do to get out of bed! I only have 2 weeks left so im hoping things improve after this x hope things are better for you
