So got my results, definitely cancer, mastectomy and lymph node removal booked for March 23rd,but have to wait to see if a receptor is positive or negative. If positive 6 months of chemo before op to to have CT scan before to check everything. Feeling pretty numb and sick right now
Bless you this was me or similar Nov 2021. Treatment all done apart from meds by June 2022. It is a place none of us want to find ourselves but sadly it happens and when you hear those words it's devastating.
I did find that once the op and treatments began and you are following that plan the panic subsides and one day at a time you are nearer to getting rid of this awful disease. The strength you find is amazing.
I never thought I would get through it but I am coming out the other side with new curly hair
There will be ups and downs along the way but with support you will get it done. Lots of love x
Thankyou....I'm trying to process it all...its good to hear that you have come through the other side..I do have good support with family and friends. Its just trying to process it all xxxxx
So sorry you have had this news.We have all been there and it is such a shock to be told you have cancer. Once treatment starts you will feel less numb but it is tough. Just make sure you take time for yourself, cry when you want to and check in on here as many of us are post treatment and can offer support.Take care.
Sorry to hear it’s cancer. Best of luck with your treatment, seems like that’s on the way and it’s a step forward to coming out on the other side as Jane put it
I am sorry and am sure it is so much to take in when they say it. Makes it all too real. You will get through this and there may be rough patches but one day at a time gets you through the treatment. Hopefully the Her2 will be negative but if not you will deal with that too. I am sure you are in shock now but don’t forget you have a whole army of women on your team. God bless you

Sorry to hear that result. I was in a similar position back in May 2021. I ended up having a mastectomy (L) and a lumpectomy (R), followed by 15 rounds of bilateral radiotherapy. Hearing the diagnosis is one of the hardest parts. Then the wait to see what the recommended treatment is. I found that I was guided on the 'journey' - small steps, managed information (eg booklets), etc, which helped me to understand what was going on and make some of the decisions that were necessary. Talk to your Breast Care Nurse (BCN), ask as many questions as you want of the BCN and your consultant(s). I found them really good at taking account of me as an individual and working with me. It is a journey. As others have said, once the appointments, surgery, any on-going treatment gets underway somehow you find the strength/resilience/whatever to go with it. I was lucky in that I could take six months off work (with a three-month phased return) and my partner was a star! Accept help when it's offered; ask for it when you need it. I found my local Maggie's a great help.
Hang on in there - we're all here to 'listen'.
Take care,
Diane.
I was where you are on 5th January. It’s the most horrible shock, hearing the word ‘chemotherapy’ almost made my husband pass out! I’m Her+ estrogen fed. Having chemo first, then mastectomy, followed by possible radiotherapy. The waiting for results is the worst, first chemo yesterday but still waiting for biopsy on a polyp in my trachea that the CT scan picked up. It seems never ending but they have to be thorough. Hang in there, sending positive vibes xx
It's awful..I'm dreading the ct scan so afraid of them saying it's spread to my bones or other lymph nodes. Xxx
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
