Pretty much sailed through EC courses. Though I’m grateful haven’t had other side effects some get, I’m finding the bone pain+ the fatigue are something else. It’s the both together. Yes I’m taking painkillers, avoiding constipation etc. I understand can be the drug and the white cell enhancer injections together. I’ve usually picked up by the following week. Still mooching round the house week 2 utterly exhausted. Pain started probably characteristically 4/5 days after treatment. Painkillers work taking the edge off. Really hoping improved soon.
Hi Pogs, sorry you are having bone pain and fatigue on Docetaxel. Is this your first cycle? Fingers crossed the following cycles won't be as bad. It's good to hear painkillers are helping. I have been keeping a diary of how I feel each day so I know on each cycle more or less what to expect.
I am finding I get bone/muscle aches and sore skin on EC but it wears off after a couple of days but like you say it maybe from the injection to boost the white blood cells as that's where they are made. Plus I have had a mouth ulcer the last few days to on my 3rd cycle.
I will be starting Docetaxel soon plus Herceptin and Pertuzumab. The side effects certainly don't sound nice some seem to be the same as other chemo drugs but there are some others thrown in too now. I know everyone can react differently but I am still scared of this one.
Wishing you all the best and hope you start to feel more like yourself soon.

Hi there. Chemo can be really tough, and seems to impact us all differently. Thought you might be interested in some of the things I wish I’d known before starting TCHP. Chemo blog
Just to let you know that your post has helped me just by knowing that someone else is going through the bone pain thing too. I have just spent the last 24 hours in dire straits. You know how an injured do keeps moving around to make a new bed to escape the pain .... that's me. I've been besides myself. I'm hoping that there won't be too many more days of it. Do you know if there is an alternative that they could use for the next two cycles cos I really don't fancy going through this again.? Have you found which pain relief actually touches it?
They sent me home with medication in case I got diarrhoea so I have been a bit reluctant to take laxatives but got horribly bunged up on the previous regime of Epi&C. Should I take the laxatives just in case it goes that way which is horrible compared to diarrhoea which is manageable?
I'm due to start the filigram injections but dreading it as it also gives me excruciating pains on day 6 and day 7. I ended up going off in an ambulance to A&E because it was so bad they thought I was having a heart attack!!
Any other advice to ease the distress would be great.
