  • Hi Mere

Sorry to hear that you were diagnosed with breast cancer. While I don’t have any experience with taking Abmeciclib I thought I’d reply to you to put your query to the top of the discussion. Hopefully someone will be along with an answer for you soon.

    Best wishes

  • Hiya,

It’s also in my treatment plan to go on to this drug which I’m glad is an

option for us Ok hand. (I’m currently still mid chemo). I would look at it like, you’ve survived chemotherapy which is much more risky and you’re also at risk of blood clots from lots of other things like long haul flights.

I hope you start feeling less worried soon but maybe talk to your oncologist or breast nurse? They might be able to give you some helpful comparisons?

    lots of love,

    Fern xx

  • Hi , thanks I started today I have took two and trying not to think about it, hope all goes well for you too .I know I should count myself lucky to get this drug it's very expensive Slight smile

  • Hope it goes well. Let us know - I’m due to start it in March - as you say I’m grateful it’s available but also nervous.  I started taking tamoxifen a week ago as a temporary fix as I’m not menopausal until I can get Zoladex going to shut down my ovaries ready to move to Letrozole and then the Zoledronic Acid infusion and then Abemaciclib … I haven’t noticed anything with tamoxifen and I’m hoping moving onwards to find things aren’t as bad as I feared.

  • Hi, yes I let you know , had three so far but anxious about side effects x

  • Hi, I started this in November. I was really pleased to be offered it but also anxious about side effects and being immunosuppressed. I look after my grandchildren 2 or 3 days a week ( 1 and 4 years old) and was worried I would have to stop. However my oncogist said as long as they didn't have an obvious cold, stomach bug or other infection I should be fine. My white cells dropped early on so I kept away that week. If the shops are busy or I'm on public transport I wear a mask.

I think I've been lucky with side effects. I get the odd bout of diahorrea  that I can usually trace back to dairy products. I have found some changes to my taste but not as bad as on chemo. My hair was growing back after chemo but seems to have slowed down again although I'm not losing it. I can get very fatigued but that is also a side effect of Letrizole. Overall my experience with abemaciclib hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I thought and I'm glad to be on it. I know some ladies struggle with it but thankfully I'm ok so far. Good luck everyone.

  • So good to hear this - I hope it continues to be manageable for you.

  • Hi, Labradorlover, had 12 days of the tablet now had. bit of headache no diarrhea just but bloated, just had bloods done yesterday and they say my blood cells dropped a little so now waiting for a phone call to see what they say x

  • There is no proof that I can find that acrylic tars cause chemical imbalance. I did a PubMed search and tracked down nothing. Truly, the greater part of these substances would just solidify on top of the current nail, or volatilize up high before retention through the current nail.

I believe there's no reality in birth abandons and the utilization of acrylic nails GlamgossiperThe paint on the Acrylic nail last longer on your natural nails because Acrylic nails are plastic.
