Hi Jue22
Sorry to hear that you are having problems with the picc line dressing. I don't have any advice for you but I've notice you haven't had any answers yet so I thought I'd reply to you to put you back on top of the discussion. Hopefully someone will be along shortly to give you some advice.
Best wishes

I had a sensitive dressing applied and a solution/ cream underneath first. I wish I could recall the name. There is also a little cushioned ring that can be placed at entry point of line under dressing. When my skin broke a little as it was so dry, I had gauze under my dressing so it was only the outer cm or two of dressing that touched my skin. We had to keep the port entry point visible though. I hope your rash settles down or that they find a better dressing for you x
Hi,
I always had a bio patch around my PICC line and the skin was ok there.
My problem was towards the edge of the dressing - I didn’t blister but the skin split and started bleeding whenever they removed the dressings, possibly due to a reaction to the adhesive. I was swapped to a more sensitive dressing which made no difference and then moved to a honeycomb dressing which had a different type of adhesive that wasn’t as sticky. The honeycomb padding also stoped most of the dressing from touching my skin apart from a small border around the edge. They also applied a balm with every dressing change but I don’t know exactly what it was. The honeycomb helped but I found I needed to wear a close fitting PICC sleeve cover all the time or the dressing just started to come off. I got a PICC cover from Annabandana but also used cut up tights and socks as covers under tops as it was winter/spring. I had my PICC removed in May and my skin has all healed over now although you can still see the outline of the dressing on my skin.
Hope this helps.
Tis x
