After effects of radiotherapy

Thank you it us early days after radiation just hope it settles. I have ordered some pure aloe gel this should be here tomorrow. So  be on the mend soon  

just feel why me at the minute  x 

It is horrid when we are in the thick of unpleasant symptoms and feeling tired from the treatment too. It will get better and every day that passes is a step towards the day when  you will feel you again. Sending very warmest wishes for a speedy recovery. xx

I know what you mean and to be itchy and not able to sleep is awful.  My skin is super sensitive so I get eczema flare ups sometimes and the itch is awful.  When that happens I immediately put on fragrance free moisturizer and no scratching.  If you scratch it brings on the scratch itch cycle and keeps on itching.  Hope it calms down with the aloe.  Better days are ahead.  

Thank you for starting this thread. I won't be starting radiotherapy for a few weeks but I really appreciate all the comments with helpful advice.

Wishing you the best while going through radiation.  It went by pretty quickly and happy to be done with surgery and radiation.  Feeling good and you will too.  It is nice to share things that worked.  No need to reinvent the wheel.  Take care.

I’m interested too

It does really take time. I joined a What Now group at Maggie's and it's helped to talk to others who have gone through it. My problem is a bad cough since radiotherapy finished.

Thanks for letting us know. I am going for a CT scan on Tuesday in preparation for the radiotherapy. The radiographer told me she should be able to give me a partial radiotherapy because the area is quite small. I feel encouraged by that. 

Did you tell your Doctor about it?  They will want to check and make sure you don’t have something going on that needs treatment.
