Hi, I had a needle biospy recently. I was supposed to go for an appointment on Friday to discuss the results but I had to cancel until this Tuesday. Then this morning I had a call from the local hospital that I had been booked in for a CT scan this week. After consulting Dr Google it looks like I have cancer then and they are checking if it has spread. Am I wrong with this thinking? I know my lump was large and also that is not a good sign.
Hi, many of us have CT scans to check for "spread" - a so-called staging CT. I think if you have a large tumour or lymph nodes or a fast growing one or any combination of these you will get a CT. They just scan you from neck to the the tops of your legs. Also, most of these scans are clear, but that doesn't stop us worrying about them. Hope your scan goes well. One of the hardest parts for most of us is waiting for all the biopsies, scans and so on that our consultants need in order to make the best decision about our cancer treatment. Once we have a plan, most of us find it much easier. I really hope your scan goes well and that you get your plan soon xx
Hi, I was worried sick about the CT scan as I thought it meant spread, but it's routine for lumps of a certain size. Hope you get an appointment and results soon, I found waiting was the worst. Good luck
