Hi
I saw the oncologist last week and he wants me to have chemo as adjuvant treatment for my TNBC.
I asked him whether I should have the 4th Covid jab before I start chemo as I know it will lower my immune system. I was surprised that he didn't know whether I should or not and said to speak to my GP. Before I do this, I wondered whether others here had been told to have the 4th jab/booster before starting chemo.

Were you due to have the 4th jab anyway? I had my 3rd/booster in December, so well before I knew I had breast cancer, and I'm not on the current eligible list for the 4th.

If you have cancer diagnosis in our area you are eligible I am 66 and got mine x
You can have your COVID booster any time during treatment. Perhaps it is most ideal to have it before you start chemo if you can. I had mine before chemo - it takes at least a week for antibodies to start rising and then another 3 to peak. Another consideration is that if you have your booster now, it will be most likely be 6 months before you can have the next one .... and it would be ideal to be re-boosted before Christmas if you are only just out of chemo then. I think it is a personal choice as to when to go for the jab. I had to take along my letter saying that I had breast cancer and had chemo to my vaccination centre.
