Is anyone on Palbociclib? I have just taken my first dose, also taking Letrozole. Just wondering how you get on with it?
I wonder if you search on the groups more widely if you might find the more detailed answers you are looking for. The letrozole answer is probably in the oestrogen reducing medications section of the breast cancer forum. Some people don't notice they are taking it. Others get menopausal symptoms like dry skin, tiredness, joint aches and so on, but everyone is different.
I think palbociclib has a long list of side effects but most people get along just fine with it, and may feel more tired than usual at certain parts of the cycle.
Hello I've been on both Palbociclib and Letrozole since October 2021. On the blood tests done before each cycle, my neutrophils were low so my third course of palbo had the dosage reduced from 125mg to 100mg.
Side effects from the palbo tend to be in the final week of taking them and the early part of the recovery week. Usually feeling a bit drained, gums bleeding when I brush my teeth or bite into something like an apple, the occasional very light nose bleed. However, on the whole totally manageable.
The side effects from the letrozole are a lot tougher because I've been pushed into the menopause. Hot flushes and a "sizzling" sound in my ears are the ones I can cope with. Very achy and stiff joints have caused the most anxiety for me. I've been given some ibruprofen gel and use this to try to get more active. I've just started yoga classes and I hope this will make me a bit stronger and more mobile.
There's a secondary breast cancer forum on here where you find more palbo users. Also I'm on an international Metastatic Breast Cancer forum on Health Unlocked where there are a lot of users worldwide.
Hi there could you point me in the direction of the MBC forum please? I am also on Palbo and Letrozole without any major problems so far.thank you
