Hi was diagnosed stage 2 breast cancer in January 2022 had surgery to remove cancer and tissue and removed some lymph nodes .

well the pain ,tingling numbness still can’t do alot as my right arm my sample was sent to USA Flag us. To get DX onxcotype back Yes I even questioned it was told I would have chemotherapy or radiotherapy or maybe both . Had appointments booked to see oncologist but keep cancelling I am so stressed as waiting for treatment I thought would of been quicker .how long can they leave it thought was 6 weeks and should start treatment but being fobbed off results not back . Doctor now on leave there must be more than 1 doctor . I can’t be only one that has had this type of cancer .

well just found a lump in other breast and worried all over again why didn’t they check properly as I had mammogram in both breast .

I just want to get back to normality . The longer I wait for treatment the affect it will have on me finically Tired face what can I do I’ve called and not getting any answers has anyone else been through this .

Financial burdens on top of a breast cancer diagnosis, seems like so much to handle.

I think you might want to ask them if they are sure the left breast is ok...because its OK to ask and be safe.

I feel your frustrations....waiting times are unbelievable.

  • If your nurse is not helping then perhaps it's time to talk to PALS in that hospital. When was your surgery?

  • My surgery was on 15th March and PALs have not replied yet

  • My surgery was 2nd August 21 and I didn't start chemo until 1st October. It was very frustrating at the time.

  • Ok. On the other lump, I would notify the breast nurse and request that this is looked into NOW regardless of what is going on with the other breast.

On the other breast, even if the doctor is on leave, they can still give you an appointment for after he or she comes back from leave, so I'd be interested to know why they have not done that yet.

Test results do sometimes take a while to come back. Pathology results, for instance. I once had to wait seven weeks for that to come back, after being told it would take about two weeks. The issue was with the lab, and in the end my nurse contacted them and put pressure on.

I asked my oncologist at some point how much of a gap we could open from surgery to chemo, and he said, "up to three months." Not sure if that was specific to me at that time or would hold true for someone else too.

  • It seems so difficult that you need to be assertive when at such a low point, I agree with the others, talk to your nurse I have found them really good for me. Keep in touch with here and I am sure you will be supported

  • Yes I was told the same
