Went for my 1st Radiotherapy today. Was originally told I would be having 20 sessions but Radiologist handed me my appts with today's appt and 14 other appts. When I told her I was having 20 in total, 5 boosts on a positive lateral margin, she told me the oncologist has changed his mind because he doesn't know where on the lateral margin it was positive. I was so cross that nobody had bothered to tell me or explain.
When I had my Radiotherapy they did a chest xray and said they would do another one half way through my sessions. Is this something that is done routinely? The radiotherapy is for my chest wall and lymph nodes is neck. They not doing axilla as had a clearance.

I was left side affected boob so had to do the breath hold. They took an x ray at every session when I held breath to check position. As yours is chest wall they may also be checking position. I had 15 sessions. I'm sure if you ask one of the staff they will answer. It can be daunting but well done for getting through the first one x
Hi Mel, I had routine X-rays (imaging) during my radiotherapy - I think on the first 3 sessions, then the 9th as well, and maybe even one other one. Its just to check you are still properly aligned for your treatment and it is very routine. I hope your treatments are going well
