Does anyone take these to help with sleep?

Im 2 months post chemo and now taking Anastrozole. My sleep is very erratic and wondered if CBD could help.

Thoughts?

  • I do I get them from pure sport as they also do capsules to boost your system

  • I take I love hemp drops for back &  hip pain and they are fantastic but made no difference to my sleep but I've always been a poor sleeper. .  I've just switched today from taking at night to taking in the morning to see if they can help improve my sleep.

I take this one /strength in orange flavour.  You hold under your tongue for 60 seconds.  I've tried more expensive no flavour ones and they tasted like a dirty ash tray

  • I have finished treatment but I do take these to help with aches and pains of anti-oestrogen meds (exemestane) . I take it at night and occasionally take an extra one along with paracetamol if joint pains are bad. They aren't fabulous but I think they help. My consultant had no problem with me taking them but to be honest if you are currently finding things tough ask your GP for a prescription. I had prescribed sleeping tablets during chemo and they helped. I made sure I didn't take them regularly just when I really needed to and this helps you not to become reliant. Good Luck x

  • Are you taking the capsules? What strength as there are various types.

  • I generally buy from Holland and Barrett because I assume I can trust their sources. I mostly go for what is on offer at the highest dose. I sometimes take capsules but think the drops (if you can get used to the taste) placed under your tongue is best. I am currently taking Jacob Hooy CBD 20 MG. The dose is one a day but I take one in the morning and one half an hour before bed. If pushed I would say Pureis 20mg is the best but it is pricey.

    • Not a miracle cure but worth a try. I take more than the bottle/package suggest but I am NOT suggesting you do that.

I also when sleeping is bad after a couple of hours get up get a small cup of hot skimmed milk slightly sweetened with honey, take it back to bed and read or listen to the radio for 10 mins. I add in a couple of paracetamol if I haven't taken them before. It usually works.

Good luck let me know how you get on x

  • Hi Jacala. I too suffer very badly from insomnia. Tried cbd oil but for me it was a disaster, I had  horrendous diarrhoea for a couple of days after just one dose. That was just me though, you may be fine as others have posted. Just wanted to warn you. Hope things improve for you, with or without the CBD, kin regards, Mog

  • I think CBD oil brands is a mine field.  I first bought H&B assuming safe, good as high street retailer.  I struggle through the disgusting taste of the oil for 2 weeks and it did nothing .  Didn't try again for a couple of years until recently as desperate due to hip pain and medication not touching.  I googled and "I love help" had solid reviews and on handpicked cbd was £4.99 and was flavoured so I thought I'd try even though low potency .  Stupidly I miscalculated first dose and took 3 tines recommended.  The affect on hip pain was nothing short of miraculous. I reverted to recommended dose and it's kept the hip pain at bay .  It's not completely gone but it's hugely reduced.  Before I couldn't get up from chair, out of bed rtc.  Now I can.  I went to order more from handpicked cbd and the site has been dead for last two weeks !   I can buy elsewhere but 3 times the cost.

Neither oil affected my bowels but it's very rare anything upsets it unlike my hubby & daughter who react quickly to medication, food etc  .  I never get holiday tummy  either .
