Very true Bettyjayne. Its hard to explain to someone who is not walking in your shoes. Im just looking at surgery as clearing the first hurdle. And there's still a long way to go. You can talk to us here or if you are finding things getting too much for you maybe your BCN can recommend someone that you can talk to about your worries. Xx

    1. I completely understand where you’re coming from. I doubt I’ll ever be the same as I am definitely something missing too x
  • Hi Csp85

  • Hi 61 plus

    Glad the antibiotics are working

Had a bit of bad day Tuesday. Went out for a walk and went shopping. Bad idea did to much and ended up with a temperature and a complete lack of energy.

Really got worried as I was shaking at one point then hot and a cold flannel on my head

But it's okay now just need to remember less activity and more drinking of water.

My arms still really painful. Under the armpit where scar is still very sore. According to hubby it's looks okay

Wasn't sure whether I should ring BCN just for advice on my temperature fluctuating. Even took a covid test just in case.

    But feeling better today.

  • Hi m.

My appointment as been moved to tomorrow morning now,had a phone call a few days ago,my Dr has covid.

  • Aww that's a shame still tomorrow isn't that bad. I'm trying to self refer to physio as I still can't use right arm very much. I can hold it out flat for a bit then it goes numb. I can try and do the chicken wing exercise as I ca it but that's not opening up my armpit where its most sore.

It's still feels very fragile although skin has knitted together really well.

My underarm is still sore too. Think there must be a lot of healing going on in there. Glad you're feeling better now.  It is difficult to not run around like normal isn't it? We just have to give ourselves time to heal. Xx

  • Hi ladies ,

My under arm pain has finally gone. It’s taken 4 weeks though.
Driven this morning, took my doctors note in so that’s another step to normality.

Hope you all enjoy the sunshine and take it easy, this whole process does make you so tired.
good luck with your results tomorrow. I have everything crossed for you x

It is really easy. I'm just a very bad patient. I'm at the stage where I think its been 14 days and I should be getting better.

I have been having really strange thoughts as I sleep. It's like I'm going through different things I should do if I get bad news.

It's like someone said they have cut it away so everythings okay now.

It's not and we have just started on this horrible journey which none of of us want to be on.

I wish this was true , it he truth is people go through the fear of the what ifs.

What if I need chemo as well as radiotherapy

What if we have a lump on the other breast

What if they find its spread beyond my nodes.

All these questions have come into play and I'm trying to cope with the uncertainty.

This method of expressing my thoughts has been a god send. I couldn't do this without you all listening to me. Replying on questions or just expressing your thoughts and experiences as a means of support your all amazing.

It felt quite odd to be driving again. I've only gone short distances yet. My GP is phoning today for a chat and to extend my (un) fit note. Good to know the underarm pain will go. Can't wait to go to sleep on my usual side.

Good luck tomorrow  it's another step forward. Xx
