Hello I am due to start 6 monthly zoledronic acid infusions next week and I am feeling very anxious about the possible side effects. I had such a bad time during chemo the side effects were horrendous some I'm still dealing with and just wanted to hear from other cancer patients on how you got on with this intravenous treatment and if you have any tips on dealing with the possible side effects. I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you xx
Hi Brontemaggs I haven't had any symptoms at all. Hope this helps
Thank you that's good to hear wish you well with your recovery xx
Take care and don't worry. This treatment has only previously been offered to secondary breast cancer patients but now thinking is it is very helpful in stopping reoccurance so offered to primary breast cancer patients too.
Hi we are all so different I had no problem with chemo 3 EC and 12 paclitaxol all fine just tired. Also had RT in December no problem. Had my first 6 monthly Zometa acid IV and had flu symptoms and pains for 3 weeks totally floored me. Was not going to have any more but as I had TNBC and it helps with reoccurrence giving it another run in May so hope next one is kinder fingers crossed just shows how individual we all are. On a lighter note bought rapid brow serum of Amazon and have regrow my eyebrows in just over a week brilliant product worth a try ladies. Good luck to you all you will do this sending hugs xxx
Hello Sunshine321 Thanks for the tip on eyebrows yes I will try that does it have a brand name? my hair is finally growing back still very short but at least its as thick as it was. I stopped my chemo after the 3 EC really couldn't cope with the side effects and have actually regretted having chemo. I also have TNBC. Praying I don't have bad side effects with this treatment . Good luck with the rest of your treatment and hope the next session is better for you xx
Hi Jayne, I’m very glad to hear that you had no symptoms, you deserve it after what you went through with Chemo x
Rapid lash serum is the name about £27 my hair went very thin but growing back now can't wait to have it coloured bur a bit soon yet treatment finished other than zometa IVs they do tablet forms of it which may be an option but hoping next one is OK. Good luck with your treatment also we have made it through to a happier year xxxx
Hi Jayne, I’m ok, finished radiotherapy 2 weeks ago and had first zometa on Wednesday, was very ill yesterday felt like I’d been hit with a bus, feeling a bit better today x
