Hi,
I have read posts mentioning a 'base gel'. What is this please and where do I get that from?
The radiotherapy department said they don't recommend or give out any creams etc, just use what you usually do. I ignored that and have bought Moo Goo full cream moisturiser and the Moo Goo sensitive skin balm. I currently use Neutrogena Skin Balm, but Moo Goo was mentioned on forums so going with that.
Thanks JWe
Do you mean Doublebase?
Most radiotherapy departments recommend alcohol free and unscented products.
Aveeno is popular as is E45
I used the Neutrogena skin balm but you should be fine with the moo goo. Ideally you want something that absorbs quickly without too much rubbing in
Best wishes
Hi @Naturaljazz
I bought a radiotherapy gel that was recommended to me by a friend. It cost a lot of money and I got through 3 pots of it (£75+ including postage!). It worked pretty well (I got some burning during my 15 sessions - and wouldn't have put so much on underneath my breast, where the bra strap rubbed). But having bought some aloe vera gel from H&B later at a MUCH reduced price, this had exactly the same consistency and it did seem that they gel, rather than the cream was better as it didn't seem to need much rubbing in..
I see Exraygirl (who is a radiographer, I seem to recall from other posts?) has replied whilst I was typing. I'll leave my post anyway, but you won't go wrong following Exragirl's advice
Thank you, I will look at Aloe Vera gel as I have used that before for a leg rash a while back.
I use Neutrogena skin balm on my legs and arms as they are getting so dry since Letrozole, so I have that in (I always buy lots if I like something).
Aveeno doesn't suit me, I am not sure why, had it before.
The department don't recommend anything, just use what you always use (no idea what they tell ladies who don't use anything normally lol).
Seems I have plenty of what I need
Thank you
