Hi

I’ve been told this is what I’m having. Has anyone had this ? Did you have reconstructive surgery to create a nipple after ? It’s not my priority as I just want it out but want to be prepared too .

  • Hi, I’m one of the champions here in this group and I wanted to acknowledge your post as I noticed you haven't had any replies just yet.  Whilst it's not the same as connecting with someone with lived experience, the wonderful team at Macmillan are at the end of the phone if you do want to chat anything though. You can reach them on 0800 808 0000 from 8am to 8pm daily. Best wishes

  • Hi Gusmum,

I had wide excision and nipple removal 2 years ago. I was offered reconstructive surgery or a nipple tattoo but chose not to go down that route. I’m 64 and past caring if I look a little lopsided! My scar is just a very neat faded line and I have a prosthetic to put in my bra.

The only time I do feel a little self conscious is when I go swimming when I’m on holiday but that is my insecurity. Wishing you all the best in whatever you decide to do and hope all goes well. X

  • Hello,  glad that you have healed up well.  I know here in US they have stick on nipples that look really good. They are made by Amoena and are made from silicone.  Here is a picture.  Take care

  • Hi!

I had left breast lumpectomy, mammoplasty snd nipple removed. I didn't have supplement reconstruction and Im quite happy with the way it is Slight smile

  • Hi Gusmum

I had a wide local excision and therapeutic mammoplasty with nipple and areola reconstruction 4 months ago.
The oncoplastic surgeon created a new nipple from skin. I guess psychologically it makes me feel less mutilated because I still have a breast with an areola and nipple of sorts even though it looks different to my other breast ( I had to have a lumpectomy on the other breast too so that one has an indented scar). Overall I suppose my chest feels normal and looks normal with clothes on, it’s only myself and my husband who are going to see the scars Rofl
