The plan was to do radiotherapy to the axilla as there was positive nodes.
but yesterday the radiographer at the planning appointment showed how they will do it to the crease of the shoulder down. I was a bit confused as I thought they do the whole armpit- but I may be wrong.
I forgot to ask at that instance but now it is worrying me! In this picture seems like the whole under arm needs to be done?
Has anyone had any experiences ?
I suspect they irradiate the entire chain of lymph nodes from the shoulder downwards. The beams can happily travel through bones and muscles to where they’re needed so I don’t think you have to actually aim the bits of your body at the machine. That’s just what I’m thinking though so do check with the BCNs
