Hi would like to know how anyone else feels a year after diagnoses and treatment and how to move on and feel better.
Hi I am less than a year on from surgery which was in Jan 21 and for the most part I don't worry about it because there is not much I can do about it.
The statistics are that 1 in 2 of us will get cancer so rightly or wrongly my thinking is that the likelihood of the cancer coming back is less than 1 in 2 so if those who have never had cancer are not worrying about their 50% chance of getting cancer then why should I worry. Also having had cancer once I am regularly monitored and everything is taken more seriously and investigated when previously I would have been told 'lets wait and see' so I feel that another cancer would be spotted and dealt with early.
The other thing that helps is keeping busy and getting some exercise and fresh air - even if it's just a daily walk.
As I said rightly or wrongly this is what works for me. The only exception is when I am having follow up tests and waiting for results. Waiting for results I think will always be stressful.
I hope you find a way to move on, it's not easy I know.
