Hi i have something really niggling in my head and scared to bring it up.
my tumour was reduced by 95% from chemo, as reported after surgery. Nodes were clear. There was some residual cells found at tumour site which were removed. Because of this I have started kadcyla for 14 cycles which will take up to may or June 2022.
im scared to ask anyone about the residual cells found but now removed. Has anyone had the same results?
just finished radiotherapy too
hi i can see you have had a lots of views on your post but no answers i dont know about residual cells but there is a macmillan helpline you could call tomorrow who may be able to help The Macmillan Support Line can help with clinical, practical and financial information. n 0808 808 00 00 (7 days a week, 8am-8pm).
Thanks ursula2, I don’t want to phone the helpline yet as anxious. Though I now remember the radiology onco consultant telling me she could be sitting telling me much different news so to be positive and get through last bit of treatment to keep it away. I just was hoping someone on here could give any advice re same scenario I’m in .
Hi Hmfm
i had some cancer cells left after my treatment which my surgeon took out and was put on chemo tablets. Because I had some cancer left in my lymph node I had a CT and Bone Scan to make sure there was no spread, which there wasn’t.
Wishing you the best of luck with your treatment.
Best wishes

From what you are saying it sounds very much like the residual cells are gone, because not only were they removed, but they put you on additional treatments, each of which would have attacked anything it found in its own unique way. Seems like a very thorough job. I get the feeling that if you gather the courage to ask your team they will tell you pretty much the same thing, but be aware that they would never make absolute promises even if they are certain. By the way, a 95% reduction through chemo is great!
