I am grateful for your explanation. Its so daunting and I try to just go with the flow. I may just pretend I am waiting for the masseuse that never turns up! Do you get to hear any music. I think that would surely make it a lot better! I will definitely take your advise also about having a nap on a beach! That's what I tried to think during mammogram...and I put some zen music on my mobile phone which the radiographer enjoyed! Wonder how long it will be? Have you got to wear the hospital gown? Or in own clothes?

I had my 1st MR on Sunday. Was told to take a cd in if I wanted music on but I didn’t. I found it ok, just noisy. Sounded like bad techno music to me!! Went in feet first (and face down) so head wasn’t even in the tunnel. They spoke to me on intercom throughout so I knew what was going on & how long each image would take. I had gown on but own clothes on bottom half (no metal). Took about 30 mins. Hope that’s a little help!

Hi as Hosemonkey said, they gave me ear plugs so it wasn’t too noisy and you wear a hospital gown front open, they didn’t speak to me at and I was trying think of the beach, it takes about 30 mins, I didn’t even realise I’d moved until it finished, I was also going away for the weekend the next day so I was thinking about what I still needed to sort before leaving. I also had a canula fitted so they could inject a dye, which they removed when it was finished.

Thank you for the information! Will be OK I guess tomorrow ...at least know what to expect. I am not sure what the dye is for...seems to be a pin cushion these days!

My hair started going the day after my second treatment. I had 4 cycles of AC and four cycles of taxol. 

I hope tomorrow goes well for you. I’ll be thinking of you.

Hi I had the contrast dye, it highlights your cells, giving them a better picture. It takes about 30 mins, I kept singing tunes in my head. Them next thing they said its all done. All the best harleybear   and rhiwana  hope your day is okay. xxx

So I have another  3 weeks of hair , no rush to cut it hurst yet then xx

They told me how long each one was and I counted , I must have counted really slowly as never reached the target xx
