Hello
I've just been diagnosed with invasive ductal cancer grade 3 triple negative I'm so scared is anyone going through the same?
Hi Claud, I had stage 2 HER2 and had TCHP......it's all doable.....had my bad days.......fainted on the toilet due to my blood pressure dropping....other half sorted me out, and had a "brown fountain"......one of the days, embarrassing, but again other half helped sort me out....you will be fine.....the first 10 days are rough, but then picked up.....I had 6 sessions chemo every 3 weeks. and 18 infusions of Herceptin.....I waited a month when I finished the chemo then had the surgery.....which was nowhere as scary as I thought it would be......no pain at all, just discomfort more than anything for a while....so take heart my lovely you will be fine.....
Lots of hugs....xxxx
Yes shazzer I am...
Docetaxol is the D word and yes that is the 'T' in my treatment (Taxotere)
Fingers crossed it will blast everything out.
I have to say I saw my dad passed away 20 yrs ago from colon cancer but back then the meds aren't as good and my dad left it too late to get treatment etc. I was by his bedside towards the end. I wished so much he was alive and I know he will be cheering me on...he is such a lovely man and his approach towards his illness is fine example what an awesome dad he was. He never wanted to leave us...he fought with what was available as we weren't well off and treatment is expensive back then and the knowledge is scarce. I am grateful for our improved chance of survival for sure!!!
I need to "hang around" till my son is that much older really! Don't mean to sound grim. Hey on a lighter note, bought a Christmas jumper! I seem to spend so much these days on me...long overdue I'd say!

Good luck for Wednesday Haveacuppa
Count on us here if nerves get the better, but I am sure you will be fine. Think positive for positive outcomes.
How's your healing? As with chemo everyone's pace is different as long as you are seeing difference week on week it's a positive step in the right direction. Do things to make u feel light and better in yourself without overstretching. I am one to say I keep using my right side and at times it hurts then I reign it in! Sigh learning curves!
Good luck for Wednesday...Will be thinking of u!

I am so grateful for your assurances and went straight out to get immodium! Lol
Very cute how you describe it...I also have low blood pressure and to avoid fainting or feeling so I have a bag of goodies by the bedside. Trouble is I am on my own most of the day...don't know if anyone will be able to help me if I faint!
So just need to take things easy and think positive. When I had food poisoning before it was dire and also fainted so maybe that I should just be prepared!
I was hoping the steroids given will help with more good days than bad, but good to know what to expect. I try not to overmanage but can't help it coz I got no fall back by way of carers. My elderly parents in law are lovely and said they're just a call away. At times I wish they would just move in and take care of me lol but that's just wishful thinking!!

Hi claud, the treatment we are having is to reduce reoccurence significantly. We are having Immunotherapy herceptin, which is the icing on the cake for our type of breast cancer her2 positive. I know you have had your surgery, so have I, my lump was removed with successful margins so that is far more looked as the biggest reduction tool, Immunotherapy has been around for I think over 10yrs maybe 15, and it's the golden bullet for her2 positive. They don't have proper figures for it yet because its so new really but the statistics they do have are remarkable. It targets any cells if they are any, and kicks them into touch, hence its called targeted Immunotherapy. I know my breast cancer was considered early and my oncologist advised they would be looking at a cure for me and they will be you. I know this treatment we have to have for it is aggressive treatment and yes there are good and bad day for it but we all will do this claud. @jowoomot can you please tell us yr positive story. Jo is a lovely lady whom I message and has helped me tremendously. Jo was her2 positive, hope you didn't mind me tagging you jo. xxx
Thanks Shaz
I cant quite believe we are in that Her2+ 15% group of all BC patients. Thanks for your comfort and explanation. I so needed that...I guess like most, it's venturing into the unknown. And the big words makes it all the more daunting. I was scared too about surgery. But that I did too. And coped and managed.
What u say is true...the onco is positive about treatment cure...that is why I am determined, at times these passed on confidence can make coping much more bearable if that makes sense? As we ourselves have had our confidence knocked back and we need someone to believe in us ...so we won't waver.
Look forward to Jo's response. Hope all goes well for ur upcoming stint.

The lady I have mentioned, is wonderful, jo you are wonderful, you help me tremendously. I am sure jo would not mind you messaging her. Everyone on here is wonderful, you all get me through my treatment and give me strength. Rattybaggins is an inspiration . Did you know Jennifer Saunders was her2 positive and she had Immunotherapy. I think 2009 she was diagnosed. Its because the treatment is so new so the get proper data statistics it takes time but the data they have is remarkable. We will all be meeting up before you know and celebrating. Harleybear I think my next surgery could be in February to remove my dcis they could not get margins on love and hugs xxx
