Hello

I have ER positive HER negative breast cancer and am having chemotherapy pre surgery. I’ve had 4 lots of EC and had scan after 3rd which showed tumour shrinkage. I’ve had 1 docataxel out of 4 and I feel like lump is getting bigger again. I just wondered if anyone in similar treatment had more than 1 MRI during chemo? I’ve been told I’ll get an MRI again after 4 doses of docataxel at the end of chemo. Just worried if docataxel isn’t working the tumour will get bigger. I have appt with oncologist on Tuesday and wanted to raise it if it’s the norm to get scanned again.

many thanks for any help…

  • Hi Claire

I had 3xEC & 3xDocetaxel + Herceptin & Pertusumab. I had followup MRIs after the first dose of EC and then between 5th&6th doses off chemo. Medics and I could also feel it getting softer and shrinking at the review appointments before each chemo.

Wishing you luck and I hope it turns out you are mistaken that it is getting bigger.

    All the best
