Hi Himalaya welcome to the forum. I think that sometimes the tablets we take eg the hormone blockers can bring on hot flashes for us.

    Hi

I'm 54 and post menapause 13 months now without a period up until 12 months ago I had to say the peri menapause was OK and manageable, but this last 12 months the hot flushes during the day and sweats during the night have been awful, headaches and wide awake during the night I hardly sleep properly.

The balance app has been very good and helpful., but these symptoms can carry on for approximately 4 year post menapause some will stay, and that's without medication

  • I am in my early 70s. I had hysterectomy late 40s. I had a pretty easy menopause. Since taking first letrozole and now exemestane I have had mild hot flashes. No sweats but oscillate from being too hot to then feeling chilly. I also get a funny feeling starting in my chest which then rounds down my trunk - I often get a flush when this happens. I can't say they bother me, although they are more pronounced than when I was in menopause. Far more debilitating are the joint pains and more annoying is the extra spare tyre round my no existent waist.

I was pre-menopause when I was diagnosed, so I've gone through a sudden menopause on goserelin and exemestane, which has given me pretty intense hot flushes. Sometimes my glasses steam up within seconds of one hitting! They don't worry me too much, except that sometimes I feel a bit odd - a bit 'not right' or nauseous - before it happens.
