i have had two grade one DCIS cancers and im taking anastrozole as im past the menopause. now i have been recalled yet again and I'm absolutelty terrified,

Can you get a third breast cancer whilst taking this drug? Also ever since i got my recall letter I have had back ache. and i'm terrified its spread. I cant eat or sleep and i feel sick. I'm going to worry myself into an early grave at this rate.

My two breast cancers were in each  breast and I had the usual lumpectomies and radiation.

You don't say how long ago you had the lumpectomies and radiotherapy. Could it be that it is a routine follow-up because you haven't been signed-off from your treatments yet? Another possibility is that it is an annual follow-up? I am still having maintenance therapy every three weeks from the oncologists. However, my surgeon told me that I would be recalled for a routine mammograms etc at their clinic one year after the date of my diagnosis. I will not be finished with the oncs by then, but already have the appointment date ahead.

Could you phone to your breast cancer nurse to ask what the appointment is for? It is always the not knowing that messes with our heads. What you know about, you can deal with. Try to find out in advance the purpose of the appointment and maybe think about taking someone with you, if you can [another reason to phone].

Let us know how you get on

    All the best
