Hey warriors,

has anyone experienced severe menopausal symptoms 4 years into tamoxifen?

my last 4 menstrual cycles have either been a few days late, 2 weeks early (hardly anything at all) and this one is now 10 days late. I have done a test and had bloods but all normal apparently. Is this just tamoxifen now kicking off at me and causing grief?

    Hi

I'm not on tamoxifen, but got plenty of Menapausal symptoms,  I'm up during the night either for the loo or flushes the sweats have eased, I cannot remember a thing more irritable than normal, anxiety and Confusion at an all time high, on top of why we are all here. I have the Balance App very good with some ideas suggestion to help, hope things get better for you x

  • Afraid I can't comment either as only been on it about a month but the sick/nausea and lack of sleep is debilitating. Going to call gp tomorrow for some help. Still think my brand is ok. Also going to switch to take it in an evening to see if that helps. I struggle to swallow pills so thinking evening on a full tum may be better.

Not had a period since may when i came off pill X

Could I ask how old you are?

I was only 31 when I got my diagnosis and now 37. You would think like a pill that after 4 years it would settle down. I am Thinking of calling oncology to maybe try one of the other tablets that i trialled in the beginning but struggled with?
I’m just annoyed that getting 5 years clear in July hasn’t meant the end.
I’ll randomly just start flushing and literally my back is soaked, I’m tired, miserable and like you my anxiety is through the roof. I have beeb doing some podcast meditations but need to do more I think. I’ve signed back to the gym and hoping that will help.
Thank you for talking the time to respond and all the best xxx

    What are you taking?
I think my periods stop whilst having chemo and for a few months after and then returned on a 34 day cycle (used to be 28) last year I was having random 60 day cycles.
    Hope the gp helps xx

  • Tamoxifen like you. I'm interested in reading about peoples side effects. Appreciate I won't get them too but has made me wary of taking them but know I need to x

Morning I'm 54 (55 Oct) just wish I'd known more about peri menapause it would have answered so many question from 45 onwards, but officially now in menapause 12month period free, the symptoms now last for 4 years ish apparently but some can just stay with you.

I seem to suffer with hot flushes/sweats and my sister is migraines that she previously never had, of you are on Instagram follow Menapause Doctor she fighting our corner.

It's not nice to have had your symptoms at 31 at least 54 it's expected

But hey 5 years clear is brilliant xx
