Hi everyone

I was diagnosed in april with inoperal bilateral lobular breast cancer. 11cm tumour in my right breast. Grade 2 ER+ HER2-. I also have a smaller lesion in my left breast and some lymph nodes are also affected on both sides. Tbh i have no idea what that really means apart from the fact i now have to have a double mastectomy , when and if they can shrink the tumour small enough to operate on me. I am in to my third cycle of EC and palbociclib. (Chemo tablet is everyday for 3 weeks with a week off. EC is every day.) I didnt want the intravenous chemo as i am really anxious around hospitals, hate needles and didnt want my life to be ruled by non stop hospital visits!. I have 2 jobs and Like many others i cant afford not to work. This is the only outlet i have in talking to people who are going through the same as me. I consider myself to be one of the lucky ones.  Although my hair has thinned, i have kept it and compared to the horrible struggles some of the rest of you are going through i consider my side affects to be manageable compared to others.

  • Hi Frenchie53

Welcome and sorry to hear that you have been diagnosed with breast cancer. Like you my side effects are manageable.  I was diagnosed last year with triple negative breast and after having chemo, surgery and radiotherapy I am now in remission. However because there was some cancer left in one of the lymph nodes that my surgeon took I am on chemo tablets which I take everyday for two weeks and then have a week off.

Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your treatment.

    Best wishes
