I am currently trying to weigh up the pros and cons of having chemo. My tumour was a grade three ductal size 50 mm. I have  had a mastectomy, all tissue removed, clear margins and lymph nodes came out clear. Oncologist says that I am cancer free. However my oncotype results show a score of 47 so I think that I will go with hormone therapy, but really still do not have a clue. Any input would Pray tone1o gratefully received. • Hiya - you could ask your oncologist about the predict app if they havent mentioned it already. I’m not sure if it can be used for all cancer types so it may not be suitable. However if it is your oncologist can do it for you and it will give you the success rates of each of treatment they offer you e.g operation,  chemo, targeted therapies over 5,10 years etc. It can help you to make a decision on the type of treatments you want to accept.
i hope that helps if your not sure what to do. Good luck with everything x

  • I agree that it's a good idea to look at Breast Predict and see what the 10 year benefit is ( oncologists use it). Over 5% and it's usually recommended, under 3% and it isn't.  Your cancer was grade 3 which is aggressive,  and usually it's recommended for grade 3, and also if your score is above 25 (I think?).

Only you can decide what's best for you, but you should think about how you'd feel if you had a recurrence after refusing chemo.  It might have happened even with it,  but are you ok with the 'what if'? Also some women struggle to take their hormone blockers due to the side effects, though supplements and experimenting with different brands can help.  Many have no issues,  but at least 30% do.

Good luck with the choice... it's not easy! X
