I have been taking Letrazole for 2 months now and have just started feeling rather tearful. Has anyone else had that possibly delayed reaction? I'm not sure whether ithe teariness could be linked to having finished radiotherapy 10 days ago. (Will post in the RT forum too)
Also has anyone else had a UTI having started on Letrazole? I mentioned a possible link to my GP and he thought it was a possibility. I have never had a UTI before, not even during the menopause 20 years ago
I've not had any UTI's, but certainty became very dry and sensitive in that area after starting it. Could your GP suggest anything fo help?
I used to have mild UTIs a lot and every once in a while I needed antibiotics as they got bad. I started taking a d-mannose supplement and problem solved. I haven't had one since and never feel like I'm on the cusp any more either (like I used to when I was pre-menstrual). I managed to get through chemo and medical menopause without any hint of a UTI, which I was surprised by!
I would really recommend d-mannose- a natural product that doesn't muck up the rest of your system like antibiotics. Of course, you may need antibiotics to get rid of your current UTI, they are miserable
Yes 2nd lot of antibiotics now. D-mannose sounds worth investigating thanks
Yes the breast care nurse gave me some samples. GP seemed to think I might be able to use estradiol again. Will have to check that with the consultant
Hi, I know the posts are a good 8 months old, But I was googling UTIs and Breast cancer and it brought me back to the forums. So glad to read its not just me. I had RTherapy last Oct and I have now had 3 UTIs in the space of 8 weeks. I had anti b the first time around, and was given a sachet of Monuril to drink yesterday, which I think is an anti-b that lasts 3 days in the body. I have ordered the D-Mannose powder.
Its getting me quite down as I feel like I dont want to leave the house or go into the office and I thought all my troubles were behind me.
My question is how often should i be taking it and what sort of quantities?
thank you
I was advised (I am not a medical professional so do check) that you can not take estradiol again, you can not take anything, even a vaginal gel that has estrogen in it, I was told by both the oncologist and breast consultant, your gp I was also on estradiol prior to this x
