Hi all. Had my PICC line installed with no problems last Thursday. Today I have some pain along the inside of my arm, presumably where the catheter is. No swelling, redness or warmth but just wanted to know if this is normal? My first chemo is tomorrow.
Thank you!
Hi Capazi
It's quite normal to have some pain along the arm that the PICC line is in. If it gets any worse mention it to your chemo nurse tomorrow.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and had a PICC line put into my arm and I felt some pain afterwards. I said it to my chemo nurse and she recommended that I put a warm hot water bottle on the arm to help with the pain.
Wishing you the best of luck with your chemo tomorrow.
Best wishes
