On Friday I had my first cycle of docetaxel and carboplatin, I've already had 3 cycles of FEC.
I've been having problems with phlobitis in both arms, but this is manageable.
This morning I woke up with aches and pains in very random areas. Ankle, heel, wrists, thighs, groin..... I've taken paracetamol.
I have codeine and amitriptyline available but don't want to take these during the day....
Any suggestions?
I found paracetamol went a surprisingly long way to helping with the aches and pains - and I also got bad chills. I just had docetaxel without the carboplatin.
I found a hot water bottle helped but unfortunately, I did feel like I had a really bad 'flu for several days. My first cycle floored me so badly that they reduced my dosage for the next 2 and that was much more manageable.
I was advised not to wait until the pain came on, but to take painkillers every 4 hours. I had kept a diary of symptoms so knew that my pains didn't come on until day 3/4 so I started taking paracetamol then. I think I took naproxen too.
My pain was a bit random too! I remember having really sore calves overnight for a couple of days and I kept checking them for heat in case it was a blood clot!
Thank you.
I've got Meloxicam, which is a one a day anti inflammatory. I'd forgotten I have them....lol. Chemo brain
I've just taken one. Hopefully it will help.
I was warned that this may happen but it's taken me a bit by surprise.
Flu symptoms without the cold xx
Sarah.... Keep looking forward
