Worried - waiting for CT scan results after 20 +ve nodes

Hi

I had a lumpectomy and underarm lymph nodes removed about 4 weeks ago. Things were looking good (relatively) as my lump was small (12mm) and ER positive, HER2 negative, so slow growing. 

Then last week I got the results and the shock that 20 out of 28 nodes were positive. I’m now waiting for the results of my CT scan done yesterday. Basically I’m stage 3C and the scan or maybe more tests will say if I’m stage 4 or not. I thought I would get the results on Thursday but now it looks like it won’t be until Monday.

Is anyone else in this situation or has been? The torture of waiting feels inhuman... I also seem to have lost my sense of humour.. just not funny at all! Grimacing

    So sorry you find yourself  here Sarah, I had two positive nodes, but my CT and bone scans came back clear. I hope yours do to, the waiting for the results is the worst. Do you have Lobular or ductual? As you are  ER+ you can go on hormone  blockers, I am on AI's which hopefully will prevent reoccurrence. I have completed radio as well .   • Hi Sarah, I had a full node clearance as I had a growth in the ax area too. I only had 8 nodes left to take, but I was cleared on all my scans. So far, so good. That was almost 4 years ago. Don’t worry too much, just breathe and let it all happen. We’ll be here when you get your results.

    Oh thank you Anna and that is so reassuring! I am ductal, Anna so I think that’s good now.

    ive also just heard a day early that my scan came back clear. I’ve never been so relieved and happy in my life!!

  • I’m glad your ct was clear. Needed to hear this. How long did you wait for your ct scan appointment? Did you also A bone scan?
