Hi there I'm just diagnosed and waiting for surgery I'll need radiotherapy afterwards, hoping to find people who know what this is like.  Friends are great, so supportive.  I have an amazing partner, but need to talk to people who understand and I don't have to be brave for.

  • Hi Nora H, you've come to the right place.  I was diagnosed back in February but have had chemo first and due surgery in late summer. I love this website as you can literally ask anything and someone will have been there before.   Best wishes

  • Strange the fear I had while waiting for the results has gone, that part was awful now I know it is cancer and they have said there's a micro invasion but treatable I feel calmer.  I was diagnosed on Wednesday have a pre op assessment on Tuesday.  I'm hoping they will get me in quickly.  They've said should be within 31 days....  I am an impatient patient.

    Hi Nora

In was diagnosed in may with invasive ductal carcinoma G2 pr+ er+ her2-

I was scheduled for wire guided lumpectomy with sentinel nodes biopsy for June but luckily there was available spot for my op and I was put forward. I think the worse thing is to wait for unknown. I just wanted to have that thing out ASAP . Now waiting again for something called oncotype dx to determine if I’m having chemo or not.
hope they will get you in fast and all goes well with your op

  • This sounds like me last week, I was diagnosed last Wednesday and had my pre-op on Tuesday. I have grade 1 12mm have to have a lumpectomy and radiotherapy and take oestrogen blockers as it’s er+, I have had a date for op yet but the lovely lady in pre-op told me they had written 15/07/21 and I had a phone call today saying my pre-op was fine and that they had cleared me for the op.

    take care
