Hello everyone,

I'm Steph from the Community team, I hope you don't mind me posting here.

We've been asked to create a new thread for chemo discussions this April, as the existing threads were getting a little long.

  • If you're looking for earlier discussions, you can find them in the Feb/Mar thread here.

  • You can find the chemo aids shopping list thread, created by members of the Community here.

Please do let us know if you have any other threads you think would be useful to link here.

  • A huge weight was lifted when he agreed to furlough.

I was off work for 13 weeks last summer, different illness) so if I was on SSP now I'd only get 13 weeks then have to go on benefits.... This way I get close to a year off if I need it. The SSP resets to 26 weeks a year after I returned to work last year x

Sarah.... Keep looking forward Two heartsCherry blossom

I had my hair shaved off once it started to come out - and felt much better once it had all gone. It went quite quickly and even though I knew it would happen I did find it quite upsetting. That was 2 months ago and it doesn't bother me at all now.

There's a really helpful charity - Cancer hair care who do workshops and have lots of phone and online support.

I've found Deresina headwear online sell lots of nice headwear (very comfy sleep hats - it's cold at night!). Plus a company called Osvyo available on Amazon - a few slightly different, stylish comfy jersey hats.

Good luck with it all and do message me if you have any hair queries!!

    Xxx

  • Just s thought for you, but you might ask to be kept on furlough if thst's more beneficial than sick pay.  The Gov rules allow anyone who is CEV (clinically extremely vulnerable) and who cannot return to work to remain on furlough even though shielding has officially stopped.

    Hi all,

A bit of my tooth fell out last night and I’m really worried. Anyone had this? We’re you able to get it fixed mid cycle? I really don’t want any more delays to treatment but obviously worried about infection. I went to the dentist before I started and got everything checked.

Ill try calling today, but from what the dentist said before I started treatment they aren’t keen to see me.
