Hi

New here.. my wife has just been diagnosed with triple negative bc . She has a lump which is around 3cms and grade 3 and so far it has not been painful. She is due an MRI this week and seeing an onchologist next week to discuss a chemo treatment plan. For the first time today, she has started to experience mildly painful twinges in and around the lump, usually if she is doing something like exercise, stretching, sudden movements. She says the lump is now much more noticeable to her generally. I guess until she begins treatment the lump is going to become larger and so will be more noticeable, but the pain is more if a concern- although only slight. Is this something we should be concerned about, or did some of you other ladies experience this?
Many thanks..

  • Hi  so sorry about your wife’s diagnosis.  Sounds like you are going to be a great source of comfort and help to her if you are on here looking for advice.  Everyone’s cancer is different so it’s hard to know what sensations to expect but it could be that she I only feeling these twinges because she now knows there is something there and she is just generally more aware of it.  The main thing is that she has been diagnosed and will be given a treatment plan.

Breast cancer is very treatable these days so hopefully all will be well in the end.  I hope her upcoming appointments go well and she is given her treatment plan soon.  Most if not all of us feel much better once we get our treatment plan.

She is lucky to have you supporting her.

wishing you both all the best.
