Hi I'm waiting to start chemotherapy and have been told I need 3 x EC, 6 x Paclitaxel and 3 x Carboplatin sessions. I'm type two diabetic (tablet controlled) and I was just wondering if anyone could share their experiences of having chemo and being diabetic - has it played havoc with your blood sugar and how have you dealt with it? Have you suffered neuropathy? Has it affected your heart? Has there been any long term effects? My blood sugar has been well controlled but I'm anxious and I'm afraid my GP is not giving me any support.
Hi
Sorry to hear that you're diabetic and having to undergo chemo. I can't answer your question as I don't have diabetes and I only needed radiotherapy. However, by answering, I'm bumping your question back to the first page and hopefully someone with some knowledge of both will be around and be able to answer your question.
Kindest wishes, Lesley x
