Hi everyone...I've recently been diagnosed with HER2 breast cancer. I've had a lumpectomy and 5 sessions of radiotherapy. I was due my 2nd herceptin last Wednesday...however was advised that heart echo showed fluid around heart so wouldn't give it to me until talking to oncologist...who was on holiday for a week. I've worried all weekend !! I was wondering if anyone has experienced this? Any advice would be appreciated.
Hi,
I haven’t had fluid but I have had treatment delayed due to EF lowering, there was a difference between echocardiogram and MRI scan. They want to double check, I too was worried but breast nurse explained and consultant did that these treatments can be hard on your heart, you wouldn’t want to end up with something else because they don’t monitor. I’ve got every faith that things will be ok and I will continue, I’ve had 9 injections already. Try not to worry xx
