Hi all any advice please 2 weeks i had my 2nd operation for wider insertion and lymph nodes removed, so no results as yet.. My arm removes numb and sore i was wondering how long does this last, its a very odd feeling
It may be different for others but I had my lymph node clearance (which is what I think you've vs the sentinel nodes alone?) in March last year and under my arm is still predominantly numb and uncomfortable at times, massaging helps as do the arm exercises you've hopefully been given but I reckon it will be round for the long term but may get a little bit better gradually (that's the eternal optimist in me!).
The feeling doesn't stop me doing anything though just means I need to stretch/massage/knead it once in a while now.
Hi. I had full lymph node clearance with my mastectomy in January and the numbness is still there. It doesn't return unfortunately I was told. However it doesnt stop giving you a full range of movement etc and like others have said keep on with the exercises. I was told by my physio to be careful when massaging if you dont have feeling and leave it to the experts. Good luck.
